How to get listed on Google Maps, Yelp, Facebook, and more!

If you own a local business, then you need to make sure that people find out where you are located. You can do this by getting listed on Google Maps, Facebook, Yelp, and other websites. These sites allow businesses to list themselves with photos, reviews, and contact information. Between these four sites, you should be able to get your business in front of many potential customers.

Google Maps is one of the most popular ways for people to find businesses. All you need to do is go to Google My Business and create a listing for your business. Make sure to include all your essential information, such as your website, address, and phone number. You can also add photos and business hours.

Facebook is another excellent way to get your business in front of potential customers. You can create a Page for your business on Facebook and include all of your important information. You can also add photos, videos, and reviews. People who like your Page will see your updates in their News Feed, and you can also run ads on Facebook to reach even more people.

Yelp has become one of the nation's most popular local search directories and review platforms where people can search for, read reviews of, and interact with local businesses. You can list your business on Yelp for free and add photos, your address, and your phone number. Or, you can enhance your profile by adding items like a call to action button, business highlights, verified licenses, and more. People who search for businesses like yours on Yelp can find you quickly if you optimize your page appropriately.

To get started, simply claim your business on Yelp and verify your information, or contact us to learn how we can help maximize your lead generation through using Yelp's Enhanced Profile and advertising products.

These are just a few of the many ways you can get your local business listed online, enabling you to reach more people and generate more leads. Other than local listings, what options are available to help grow your local businesses' online presence? Keep reading for more info.

Create Social Media Profiles to Connect With Your Local Business Listings

One of the easiest ways to get more customers is to use social media , but did you know that you can connect it with your various local listings or link from one page to another? Using social media for your business is free, easy, and effective. By creating profiles on these platforms, you can connect with potential customers and build relationships, all without having to spend tons of money to do so. Of course, there are paid advertising options for all digital platforms, but the beautiful part about social media is that you can create relationships and organic engagement before spending a dime on ads.

Let's take a look at how you can use social media to connect with your local business listings:

  1. First, you must create your social media accounts for your business on the platforms that make the most sense. If you're unsure where to start, we recommend Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Once you have your accounts set up, include links to your website and other local listings in your bio. This will make it easy for people to find you online.
  2. Next, start posting engaging content that will get people interested in your business. This can be anything from photos and videos to blog posts and infographics. As you begin to gain followers, make sure to interact with them and answer any questions they have. The more authentic and helpful you are, the more likely people are to do business with you.
  3. Finally, use your social media accounts to drive traffic to your website and other local listings. For example, if you have a new blog post that you want people to read, share it on social media and include a link back to your website. Or, if you're having a sale or running a promotion, share the details on social media and include a link to your listing on Yelp or Google Maps.

By connecting your social media accounts with your local business listings, you'll be able to reach more people and generate more leads. Plus, you'll be building relationships with potential customers along the way.

Grow Your Audience

Let's clarify one thing: You should never use fake reviews or testimonials. They are not real, and they do nothing to help build credibility, so under no circumstances do we recommend trying to generate fake reviews online on Google, Facebook, Yelp, or any platform. Instead, focus on building relationships with customers by providing honest feedback and asking for the same throughout their customer journey with your business and brand.

Local businesses thrive because of their ability to connect with others, co-exist and cooperate with other companies in the same general vicinity, and provide value to the community. If you can't support others and offer an excellent product, don't expect them to reciprocate. You must also understand that it is a give-and-take relationship - if you take without giving, the locals will eventually catch on, and your business will be on the wrong side of the growth equation.

To grow your audience through your local listing, you must first understand how to optimize your listing.

There are a few key ways that you can do this:

  • Ensure that your business name, address, and phone number are correct and consistent across all platforms. Inconsistent contact info is one of the main reasons why businesses don't show up in local search results.
  • Add as many photos and videos as you can to your listing. People are visual creatures and want to see what they're getting before making a purchase. Plus, more customer/user-generated content on your listing will build credibility when people are deciding whether to choose your business or someone else's.
  • Make sure to fill out your business description and add relevant keywords. This will help people find you when they're searching for businesses like yours online.
